Terms and Conditions of Car Keys Solutions’ Postal Key/Remote Repair Service

Herein, “Car Keys Solutions” refers to Car Keys Solutions, a trading name of OGS Mechanics Keys Limited, 142-144 East End Road, East Finchley, London, N2 0RZ, ‘this website’ refers to the website of www.carkeyssolutions.co.uk/ and its subdomain of shop.carkeyssolutions.co.uk.“The Customer” refers to any person, persons or organisation who chooses to use this website, purchase a replacement key via this website, or engage in any other services offered by OGS mechanics, or any of its subsidiaries.

  1. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms and Conditions by posting the updated terms on our website. Your continued use of our website after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms and Conditions.
  2. The Customer confirms that they have authority to bind any business on whose behalf this website is being used.
  3. Acceptance of The Customer’s order and the completion of the contract between The Customer and Car Keys Solutions will take place on successful placement of an order via this website, and the successful return of repaired or replacement keys.
  4. Delivery charges and estimated timescales are specified when The Customer place an order. Car Keys Solutions makes every effort to deliver goods within the estimated timescales, however delays are occasionally inevitable due to unforeseen factors. Car Keys Solutions shall be under no liability for any delay or failure to deliver the products within estimated timescales.
  5. The cost of posting keys to Car keys Solutions will not be refunded in the event that the Customer’s keys cannot be repaired or replaced. In this instance, only the original order value will be refunded. 
  6. Risk of loss and damage of products passes to The Customer on the date when the products are delivered or on the date of first attempted delivery.
  7. If required, goods must be signed for by an adult aged 18 years or over on delivery.
  8. Car Keys Solutions will not be held responsible, nor will Car Keys Solutions incur any cost as a direct result of The Customer’s failure to supply a complete and accurate delivery address when making payment. This includes exact address details with no mistakes, the correct postcode, and any additional information needed to complete delivery. The cost of any additional delivery attempts must be covered by The Customer. If, as a result of The Customer failing to supply a correct delivery address, the goods are in transit for a period longer than 7 days after the first delivery attempt, customer will assume the full cost of the order, together with the cost of any future delivery attempts. If The Customer chooses not to have the goods redelivered, or refuses to pay the cost of redelivery, Car Keys Solutions will withhold the good indefinitely without refund.
  9. Car Keys Solutions uses the Stripe payments platform, and by completing any transaction with us, The Customer is also agreeing to the Stripe terms and conditions, outlined here.
  10. Goods are subject to availability. In the event that Car Keys Solutions are unable to supply the goods; Car Keys Solutions will inform The Customer of this as soon as possible. A full refund will be given where The Customer has already paid for the goods.
  11. Any prices displayed on the website are subject to change without notice.
  12. Title to any products The Customer orders on this website shall pass to The Customer on delivery of the products provided that Car Keys Solutions have processed and received payment in full for the products.
  13. All prices are shown in pound sterling and include VAT (unless otherwise stated) at the current rates.
  14. Unless otherwise stated, Car Keys Solutions offers a 6 month warranty from the date of the first delivery attempt. If delivery is not made due to negligence from Car Keys Solutions within this period, then this period will extend indefinitely.
  15. All replacement / repaired keys must be checked by The Customer on receipt that the key is operational within the 6-month warranty period. We cannot offer to refund or replace keys defective after this period.
  16. Sometimes the product specifications may differ from those pictured. If The Customer is not happy with the replacement, The Customer can return it in accordance with our 7-day money back guarantee.
  17. The Customer acknowledges and agrees that all copyright, trademarks and all other intellectual property rights in all materials and/or content made available as part of the use of this website shall remain at all times vested in Car Keys Solutions or our licensors. The Customer is permitted to use this material only as expressly authorised by us.
  18. The Customer acknowledges and agrees that the material and content contained within this website is made available for your personal non-commercial use only and that The Customer may only download such material and content for the purpose of using this website. The Customer further acknowledges that any other use of the material and content of this website is strictly prohibited and The Customer agrees not to (and agrees not to assist or facilitate any third party to) copy, reproduce, transmit, publish, display, distribute, commercially exploit or create derivative works of such material and content.
  19. The service you are paying for is a damaged key / remote repair on your type of key. If upon Car Keys Solutions’ initial key or remote test, it is concluded that repair is too extensive or it cannot be completed, Car Keys Solutions will contact The Customer and advising remedial options including collection of payment if there is a cost variation. If The Customer does not want to proceed with the service and additional cost, Car Keys Solutions will refund the cost of the original order value and return the key / remote to The Customer. 
  20. Car Keys Solutions tests both the transponder immobiliser and the remote function before and after repair. A report is created that can be viewed on The Customer’s account at any time. The key / remote is deemed to be fully operational when its signal is readable by Car Keys Solutions’ specialist equipment for remote operation and immobiliser transponder. 
  21. Some remotes may need to be re-synchronised with the vehicle after repair. This is usually a simple process that can be done by The Customer – instructions for which are typically found in the vehicle’s user manual. Alternatively, Car Keys Solutions can assist The Customer. If you need help, please contact support and Car Keys Solutions can email the procedure. Very few remote types require diagnostics equipment to perform the re-synchronisation procedure or programming. This can be completed by The Customer’s local garage. Again, Car Keys Solutions can email you instructions for the procedure required. The additional cost for re- synchronisation or programming, if required, is not included in the cost of key repair.
  22. Car Keys Solutions strongly recommends The Customer sends in the original key for repair using an insured postal service so that it is covered for a replacement in the event the key goes missing in transit or is damaged.
  23. At checkout, when choosing return postage method, Car Keys Solutions strongly advises The Customer to choose the Royal Mail Special Delivery option at checkout as this is will insure The Customer’s package to a value of £500. If The Customer selects the Royal Mail Signed For option, The Customer is agreeing that a damaged or missing package is covered only to the value of £50.00, in the event a claim is made.
  24. Under no circumstances will Car Keys Solutions refund or reimburse the cost incurred by The Customer when posting keys to Car Keys Solutions, even if Car Keys Solutions are unable to repair the key.
  25. If Car Keys Solutions cannot repair or replace The Customers key, then return postage costs can only be refunded if The Customer chooses not to have their key returned to them.
  26. Orders can only be cancelled if The Customer requests to cancel their order be Car Keys Solutions has begun or completed the repair process. Please contact support or check your account page for more details.
